The Wings Story
“Thirty years ago there was no one who gave us a shout out, now we do the shout outs for India’s leading brands our way, the Wings way.”
The year was 1994, when Mercedes-Benz had entered India and the iconic ICICI Bank was founded. Tata was creating a stir in the Indian Jewellery market with Tanishq and Nelson Mandela was sworn in as the first Black President of South Africa, the year Justin Bieber was born. World over brands were going in for a makeover, rebranding and freshening themselves, taking on new identities to stay ever relevant to changing customer tastes and preferences. Through the 1990s, brands and stores realized that they needed to be more than boring unattractive shelves for countless products.
India too, it was no different as the winds of liberalization brought in foreign brands and their global outlook was set to transform the way brands and companies wooed their customers. There was an increasing shift for high quality and better branded products to entice shoppers while also creating an improved retail experience for them. This meant companies had to be creative and innovative and work closer with retailers to boost their branding and marketing strategies.
1994 was also the year Wings set forth from humble beginnings with just 3 people, guided by purpose and the will to outshine ourselves day after day, every day. Today our wingspan covers 8 countries, over 9 business verticals. We have 7500 employees working with us and ….we are still growing.
Passion, commitment and a hard work ethic are some of the cornerstones that have made Wings what it is today.
